dear may, i am looking forward to you.

Story of My Life
I always love coming across new blogs. This morning I was lucky enough to stumble upon Jenni's and the first thing I read about is how she plans to blog EVERY day in May. Wowwzers!!!
I was, no lady. Not happening.
How in the world can anyone blog THAT much and do it EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Then I kept reading... and there are topics.
This isn't to say that it will be easy, BUT ... it definitely helps.
Plus, this little blog needs to see a bit more attention.
So what do you all say?
Wanna give it a try with me?
Ok! Great!!
Can't wait.
Here are the RULES.
& now...for what your May will look like:

Day 1, Wednesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph... no one will be counting your words... probably)
Day 2, Thursday: Educate us on something you know alot about or are good at. Take any approach you'd like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic)
Day 3, Friday: Things that make you uncomfortable
Day 4, Saturday: Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, etc) and why you love it
Day 5, Sunday: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them great? Why do you love them? If you don't have blogger friends, talk about a real-life friend or even a family member
Day 6, Monday: If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?
Day 7, Tuesday: The thing(s) you're most afraid of
Day 8, Wednesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
Day 9, Thursday: A moment in your day (this can be just a photo or both a photo and words)
Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.
Day 11, Saturday: Sell yourself in 10 words words or less
Day 12, Sunday: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)
Day 13, Monday: Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.
Day 14, Tuesday: Ten things that make you really happy
Day 15, Wednesday: A Day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day - this could be "a photo an hour" if you'd like)
Day 16, Thursday: Something difficult about your "lot in life" and how you're working to overcome it
Day 17, Friday: A favorite photo of yourself and why
Day 18, Saturday: Tell a story from your childhood. Dig deep and try to be descriptive about what you remember and how you felt.
Day 19, Sunday: Five of your favorite blogs and what you love about them
Day 20, Monday: Get real. Share something you're struggling with right now.
Day 21, Tuesday: A list of links to your favorite posts in your archives
Day 22, Wednesday: Rant about something. Get up on your soapbox and tell us how you really feel. (a pet peeve, a current event, a controversial topic, something your husband or roommate or neighbor or boss does that really ticks you off)
Day 23, Thursday: Things you've learned that school won't teach you
Day 24, Friday: Your top 3 worst traits
Day 25, Saturday: Something someone told you about yourself that you'll never forget (good or bad)
Day 26, Sunday: Something you read online. Leave a link and discuss, if you'd like.
Day 27, Monday: A letter to your readers
Day 28, Tuesday: Only pictures
Day 29, Wednesday: Five songs or pieces of music that speak to you or bring back memories. Use Grooveshark or YouTube to include them in the post
Day 30, Thursday: React to this term: Letting Go
Day 31, Friday: A vivid memory
See all you peeps on Wednesday, May 1!

"It only takes just one person to make you feel special, and vaild, and that you belong in the world."
I'm not sure what it is about watching movies, or reading novels, but once they come to an end, there is a part of myself that longs for it to continue.
I have always connected to the feelings and emotions played out by fictional characters.
(mostly because many times the characters emotions are dead on to how many of us feel.)
I am pretty sure that on a day to day basis I feel as though I am completely lost and just floating through life, unsure of ... everything.
I think I stress and worry so much because I feel as though I AM suppose to have it all figured out.
That I am alone in feeling uncertain.
But I am wrong.
& I am grateful that I was reminded of that by such a great display of truth on film.
We are not alone.
We are all struggling to figure out who we are and what we want.
& guess what?
If you don't know right now...or 5 years from's ok.
& it helps to find someone (doesn't have to be romantically, but just someone) who believes in YOU and the mundaneness in which you live life will begin to shift.
It just might be slower than we orginially had planned.
Please do yourself a favor and watch this movie, via Netflix or whatever, because it is good.
True, and honest, and just good.

S A T U R D A Y // 04.06.13

I slept good last night,
thanks to my sleep aid.
I got up early to work my Saturday shift,
and got done at 1:00.
It was an easy day.
When I got off, the sun was shining so bright,
making me realize that I needed to go for a jog more than ever.
Instead I met my friend, who is silly and crazy and wondeful, and whom I love so much.
We sat was nice until the wind started picking up a bit, and then I was cold.

I have only heard from Nathan once today.
He has drill all weekend.
No bueno.
I went to an antique shop after lunch.
There was an industrial table for $25.
I feel in my heart of hearts that that was a steal.
I didn't get it.
But if it is still there next weekend, I'll know it was meant for me. ;)
I found out that my ex-boyfriend and his fiance are getting married today...
It was weird knowing that.
Not because I have feelings for him or I have anything against the couple.
They are both actually very lovely people and fit together so well.
I truly am happy for them and what the future holds for their marriage.
I think what is strange is to remember old times, and remember how much his step-mother never approved of me.
I was never good enough.
That has always stuck with me, and I'm still dealing with it.
I got some froyo before heading back home. & it was glorious!!
how was your saturday?
ps. my friend and her boyfriend went to see jurassic park 3D at the IMAX.
I found this gem while thrifting today:
VHS, baby. you remember those days?
It seems so long ago.
I wonder how much more things will change in the years to come...

T H U R S D A Y // 04.04.13

Today consisted of:

*Being woke up at 6:30 in the morning, by a phone call from my step-dad. When he heard my groggy voice, he realized it was Thursday, my day off of work, and apologized.
*I went back to sleep for another hour.
*I cleaned my room. If you were to see it, it wouldn't look like I did much.
I did, though. I promise.
*a grumpy fiance. he isn't feeling well today. so i let him be grumpy.
(let's be honest, he puts up with enough of my grumpiness, that i can survive one day of his, right?!)
*got my hair trimmed and layered. it is strange that so many hair stylists do not know how to work with naturally curly hair. this being the reason that i either wear it straight or throw it up in a top-knot. but that gets exhausting and boring, not to mention that it causes more damage to my hair. but i bite the bullet and went to someone highly recommended by close friends. & i am oh-so happy that i did.

*ate sushi
*attempted to buy some froyo afterwards, but they weren't open at that time.
i was disappointed, indeed. seriously. you all don't know how much i LOVE froyo.
*with my unfortunate run in with the froyo place, i drove across town to purchase a cup o' iced coffee.
*wondered if it was actually going to rain( said 50%, but there hasn't been but a few drops all day).
*sorted through all my clothes. i have quite a few to get rid of soon.
*backed up my iP4S, successfully. -- updated my iP4S, UNsuccessfully. (a tad bit of frustration built up after spending 2 hours TRYING to update the stupid thing.)
*ran hot water, added dish soap, and put most of the dishes in the sink.
they are STILL sitting there....
*began re-reading gene wilder's memoir, 'kiss me like a strange'. good reads.

...30 minutes later...

*the grumpy fiance returned home, and is now napping...
*finished the dishes in the sink
*getting pumped up about going to small group tonight.
god, friends, laughs, fellowship, and food is what this girl needs.

PS. i am pretty sure gene wilder and i are related. ---> just look at the hair. it says it all.

hope you all had a lovely thursday.
much love,
