always love. always.

12/17/2011

my heart is hurting tonight.
my family & i just found out that a boy, who attended the local high school with my sister, shot himself earlier tonight.
-- in the head.
he had just turned 15 a few days ago.
:'(

all i want to do is cry.
my heart literally aches for him.
both my sisters knew him.
he had a HUGE crush on my sister, amber.
they said he was a nice kid.
always trying to make others laugh.

the only thing i can think is "what?"
what made this young boy, with so many years ahead of him, feel so hopeless?
i promise you that i am not brave enough to ever take my own life.
i know this for sure.
& yet he did.
what must he have felt to do take his own life?
hurt?
pain?
unloved?
unwanted?
unworthy?
helpless?

we are all a story.
a living story.
& no one's story is the same.
we never truly know what someone is going through.
unless they so courageously decide to share it.

so i ask this of you all:
remember not to judge a book by it's cover.
remember to speak kind words.
remember to smile.
remember to show grace.
remember to be compassionate.
& please, PLEASE ....
remember to LOVE

TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARMS*

12/11/2011

1. LOVE IS THE MOVEMENT. 2. rescue is possible for everyone.
3. showing some love. 4. my heart for twloha.

something wonderful happened last night!!
to write love on her arms won chase community giving's award for 1 million dollars to go towards their organization. :D
i might have jumped up and down & did a bit of clapping.
which, probably looked a bit silly considering i was alone in my room, but hey ... i was so happy!!

twloha means so very much to me.
if you have not had the opportunity to hear about how wonderful they are and what they do, then PLEASE pop on over to their website today.
it started with just a few people wanting to help someone who had lost all hope in life.
just a few.
& now ... because of them, including the founder (jamie tworkowski), there are more people willing to help -- & more people FINDING help!
i am extremely passionate about this non-profit organization.

below is their mission statement:
