Today was filled with sleeping in (until 8:10am), not cleaning my room, crazy hair, eating sushi with a friend, book store shopping, fun nails, relaxing, soaking up the sun, falling asleep on the swing in the backyard, and spending the evening with great friends.

How was your day?

PS. Feel free to follow me on Facebook, if you don't already. :)

Adventure Day, Part 1

2/22/2012

Well, lovely people, I had the day off of work!
*jumped for joy*
I originally had to work, but got my schedule switched around so that I could have today off & then work this coming Friday! :)
The weather was in the low 70's and boy-oh-boy was it nice!
So, we decided to head outside and see what adventures we could get into.
I took a ton of photos so I am breaking them into two posts.
This was the first part of our day:

Nathan has been wanting to ride the four-wheeler for weeks now!
He finally got me on one & we had a blast. :)

I just want to say that it stayed cloudy the whole time we rode the four-wheeler.
Then as soon as we got off, ran inside to use the restroom, and went back out ... it was SUNNY!
Geez.
Anyways, then we decided to make our way over to Hardy.
I can't believe I have never been there before.
It was a cute little town with some lovely shops. :)

The day was filled with red sunglasses, hoodies, smiles, windblown hair, candy, ice cream, fancy old digs, and a hazelnut latte that tasted like a cappuccino, creepy alleyways, quotes, mirror photos, jokes, shoes, a closed bookstore *tear*, and hand holding. :)

I'll have Part 2 of our adventure up tomorrow!
I hope you all had a happy Wednesday!
much love.

an uneventful day. a wonderful day.

1/03/2012

I had planned to start a new feature on my blog today, which I will continue for the next 14 weeks every Tuesday.
However, that did not happen.
I spent very little time around my laptop ... which was kind of refreshing in a way.

My day was spent sleeping in, reading, getting a phone call from the hospital (the job position is still up in the air until the end of the week : / ), grabbing lunch with mom, heading to the old bookstore, singing and dancing to glee, picking up the girls from school, making a sonic run, and watching a movie.
It was pritty wonderful.

Oh, and two other great things happened.
Last night I got to watch "We Bought a Zoo" and it was absolutely fantastic.
It made me laugh, cry, and seek for a little more courage.
(+ I may have formed a slight crush on Matt Damon...)
AND... i found out that Jordan's aunt got me some scarves!!!
**might have done a happy dance after receiving that news. ;)

Now, everyone is asleep.
I am curled up in bed with a blanket, sweatshirt, and my jammies.
I have a peace of mind to just reflect on life in these moments.
When it is silent, it feels as though the world has slowed down a bit ... even if for a few minutes.
That is when I feel God speaking to me the most.
There is something special about that.

So, my hope is that you found the goodness in today.
Whether it was in a big or small way, and even the little things in between.
If not, then tomorrow is a new day. :)

much love,
colie

ps. i will start the new feature next tuesday.
i hope you stop by and check it out. :)

Out and about on a windy day...

isn't this the cutest darn bookstore?? :)

brittany & i ... known each other since we were 5!

This afternoon was pritty great!
An old friend from elementary school asked if I wanted to hang out for a bit and catch up.
It is so strange to have known someone your whole life, but rarely see them.
I mean if I actually sat down to think about it, we have known each other for almost 20 years!
Which is super strange consider we are only in our mid-twenties.
Geez.

Anyhoo, Brittany is such a lovely lady.
She is funny and so easy to be around!
Plus, she has the sweetest little family made up of her, her husband, their son, AND one more on the way!
Yup! She is preggers!
I just found out today & was beyond excited for her!! :)

We got to hang out at a local bookstore in our little downtown area.
It is a cool place to hang out!
Quiet, comfortable, and full of books.
Plus, it has one of those old spiral staircases that you can go up. I always feel like a little kid when I get to climb that thing. ;)

We both bought some books for super cheap! -- Awesome, I know. :)
Then we grabbed some coffee to warm us up for the awfully windy weather today.
Afterwards, we sat down in the back of the bookstore to catch up on the past THREE years!!

It was a blast!
We were laughing so hard. :)
It was nice to have someone to chat with about all of the ups and downs of life.
It was also great hearing how other people from the "good ole days" were doing.

I can't believe how time flies by so fast!
So much happens in so short of time ...
& it reminds me to be grateful for even the small moments I get to share with friends.
:)

I hope you had a wonderful Tuesday!
much love, colie.
